Akasaka Mental Clinic is located in Akasaka, and because of its
location at the center of Tokyo, many people from other countries
are living and working around our clinic. Therefore, we had felt
the serious need to serve these populations. Most people from different
cultures are under a considerable amount of stress due to various
reasons, such as adaptation to Japanese culture, work, interpersonal
relationships and family matters. Today in Japan, however, few mental-care
facilities serve appropriate and high-quality mental health services
in English. Akasaka Mental Clinic considers this situation a serious
issue and we are willing to help those from different countries
by providing mental health consultation in English.
Some people feel hesitant to start psychiatric consultation because
they are not sure if their problems and difficulties can be helped
with mental health services. If you are one of them, please try
and visit our clinic for the first session and see if we can be

Psychiatrist: Hiroshi Nagao,
M.S., M.D.
Dr. Nagao graduated from Keio University with a Bachelorfs
degree in Science and Technology and Utah State University with
a Masterfs degree in Mathematics. After gaining work experience
in Citibank, he turned to the psychiatric field and earned a M.D.
degree at Hiroshima University. Dr. Nagao spent his residency
at Keiko University Hospital, specializing in psychiatry. After
serving at National Chiba Hospital (residency in internal medicine
and anesthesiology as well), Ashikaga Red Cross Hospital, and
Kurihama National Hospital, Dr. Nagao founded Akasaka Mental Clinic
in his hometown in 2000. He specializes in occupational mental
health, various types of addiction, and oriental medicine, etc.
Dr. Nagao is a Designated Psychiatrist accredited by the Ministry
of Health and Welfare. As an industrial health physician accredited
by the Japan Medical Association, he also has the contracts with
